What this calculates
Contours a groundwater surface from well levels at a selectable interval, with flow direction arrows and the hydraulic gradient. The surface is a plane of best fit through the well levels plus inverse-distance-weighted interpolation of the residuals - this captures the regional gradient exactly (plain IDW alone would flatten it towards the mean) while still showing local detail such as mounding or a pumping depression. Supports surveyed levels reduced to a datum (mAHD) or an arbitrary local datum (relative only).

The hydraulic gradient and flow direction are the multi-well generalisation of the classic three-point problem in hydrogeology.
